Jordan Lake

Sunday May 30, 2021

Memorial Day weekend at the Lake. With the VanderSliks. For three nights. What could be better?

The trip started out slowly, because we had to double-back to the house for someone's phone! But once we arrived at our site at Crosswinds Campground there was nothing but relaxation (if very hot). Molly made her Dutch-oven jambalaya (quickly becoming a favorite in our rotation) on Friday night. Even with light rain, Darci & Kyle (and Miles) were able to pitch their tent in record time.

April is a world-class lounger.

Saturday was designated "lounging day" and we took full advantage. Even though the camp stove ran out of propane, Kyle was able to complete his signature Walking Tacos on Roxy's stove. As Molly noted, he has become the first non-Sapir to use it. biggrin A heavy (but short) downpour forced our evening of What do you meme? inside.

Sunday was much cooler (good thing we packed sweatshirts). We took a quick hike to see the other camping loops, before returning "home" to more lounging.... our favorite activity. We (finally) made a roaring fire and cooked Pie Iron Pizzas for dinner. On Monday we packed and headed home. As drove along the belt line, Molly noted that Jordan Lake is only about 40 minutes from home and that we should use it more often, even for a one night getaway. Even though I'm not a "zipper," I'm inclined to agree
